This design, featuring acanthus leaves and lily leaves, dates from circa 1880 and was originally produced by the firm of Morris and Company as an embroidered hanging. William Morris (1834-1896) became well-known for his designs in the decorative arts and the development of various crafts, including tapestry-weaving. Favouring Medievalism and using the painstaking methods of the craftsman, he adapted the arts of the Middle Ages for the modern world.
Morris re-introduced quality and style in the decorative arts, and experimented with vegetable dyes, developing a unique palette, and became attributed with reviving the craft of tapestry-weaving in England during the last quarter of the 19th century. The decorating firm of Morris, Marshall, Faulk & Co was established in 1861 and later became Morris & Company after 1874.
This beautiful tapestry is woven on a jacquard loom by skilled weavers, keeping alive the centuries old tradition of tapestry manufacturing from generation to generation. This tapestry is fully lined incorporating a rod pocket on the back for hanging with an exclusive Heirloom flush-to-wall hanging rod. Alternatively, this tapestry can be hung with a decorative pole of your choice.

FREE SHIPPING IN THE USA by UPS (for orders over $150) $15 shipping on orders below $150. Orders will usually arrive between 14-28 working days from order date but can be delivered quicker in some circumstances.

If for some reason, you want to return your tapestry within our 30 day guarantee period, we will pay for the return if you want to try another tapestry of the same or greater value. If you decide you want to return the tapestry for a product refund, then you are responsible for the return shipping costs. Please note: Packaging materials need to be kept for inspection if a replacement item or refund is requested. If you do not keep the packing materials, unfortunately we cannot replace or refund your order.

Tapestry Hanging Options
After selecting your tapestry and adding it to the shopping bag, you can choose your hanging rod option from the hanging rod page by clicking here.
Choosing the right size
The black bar part of the hanging rods are telescopic and will fit any tapestry widths that fall within the size range specified. For example, if your tapestry was 90cm wide you would need a Size 2 hanging rod. Note: The hanging rod can be slid in or out to show as little or as much of the black bar as you would like.

We also offer the option to pay by Bank Transfer and Cheque - simply select the option of your choice at checkout.
